Compositizirconia resin fiber disc-0 on

  • Abrasive: Fused alumina-zirconia is smelted at a high temperature of over 2,000°C in an electric arc furnace using aluminum oxide and zirconium oxide as raw materials. The main crystal phase is α - Al₂O₃, the secondary crystal phase is baddeleyite, and there is also a small amount of glass phase. According to the content of ZrO₂, it generally includes low-zirconium fused alumina-zirconia (ZrO₂ 10% - 15%), medium-zirconium fused alumina-zirconia (ZrO₂ 25%), and high-zirconium fused alumina-zirconia (ZrO₂ 40%).
  • Substrate: The vulcanized fiber is used as the substrate, which has a certain strength and toughness and can withstand the pressure and friction during the grinding process.
  • Adhesive: A full-resin adhesive is usually adopted to firmly bond the fused alumina-zirconia abrasive to the vulcanized fiber substrate, ensuring that the abrasive grains do not easily fall off during the use of the grinding disc.

Product Specifications

  • Grit: Common grits include P24, P36, P40, P50, P60, P80, P100, P120, etc. Different grits are suitable for different processing stages and surface precision requirements. Coarse grits are used for quickly removing materials and rough machining, while fine grits are used for semi-finishing and finishing.
  • Size: The outer diameter specifications include 100mm, 115mm, 125mm, 150mm, 180mm, etc., and the inner holes have shapes such as round holes, cross holes, and rice-shaped holes. Common inner diameter sizes are 16mm, 22mm, etc.

Performance Advantages

  • High Hardness and Strong Toughness: The fused alumina-zirconia itself has high hardness and good toughness, enabling the grinding disc to have excellent grinding performance. It can effectively cut various metal materials and is not easy to break and wear.
  • Good Self-sharpening Property: During the grinding process, the fused alumina-zirconia abrasive grains can continuously generate new cutting edges, maintaining the sharpness of the grinding disc. Thus, it can improve the grinding efficiency, reduce the grinding force and grinding heat, and enhance the surface quality of the ground workpiece.
  • Good Heat Resistance: It can withstand a relatively high grinding temperature and is not prone to the falling off of abrasive grains or damage to the substrate due to heat generation during the grinding process. It is suitable for grinding difficult-to-machine materials such as heat-resistant alloy steels, titanium alloys, and austenitic stainless steels.

Application Scope

  • Metal Processing: It can be used for rough machining such as paint removal, rust removal, deburring, and weld grinding on various complex profiles made of metal materials. It can also be used for the grinding and polishing of materials such as stainless steel, cemented carbide, carbon steel, alloy steel, cast iron, and cast steel, and is widely applied in industries such as shipbuilding, aviation, locomotive manufacturing, bridge construction, and automobile manufacturing.
  • Other Fields: In some fields with high requirements for surface quality, such as hardware products, tool manufacturing, and mold manufacturing, the fused alumina-zirconia vulcanized fiber grinding disc can also be used for semi-finishing and finishing to obtain a better surface finish.

Usage Precautions

  • Storage Conditions: It should be stored in a dry and ventilated environment, avoiding moisture and direct sunlight to prevent the deformation of the vulcanized fiber substrate and the rusting of the abrasive grains.
  • Installation Requirements: When installing, ensure that the grinding disc is correctly installed on the grinding equipment and the tension is appropriate. Avoid excessive tightness or looseness, which may cause the grinding disc to run off or crack.
  • Select Appropriate Grinding Parameters: According to the workpiece material, hardness, and processing requirements, reasonably select grinding parameters such as grinding speed, feed rate, and grinding pressure to avoid excessive wear of the grinding disc or poor processing quality.
